The First Few {Dream} Days.

We started out at ICS with 2 professional development days where I learned I was going to love this place. We talked about doing everything with the best intention of the students in mind. We discussed knowing our students first before teaching them. We discussed student discourse and intentional and purposeful classroom dialogue. We talked about the classroom environment and making it accessible to students as well as uplifting for them through structures to aid tranquility. We talked about movement in the classroom and how to lengthen attention span. We talked about holding one another accountable and being life-long learners. We talked about how the "teacher" really is a learner themselves and strives to not be the transmitter of knowledge, but the facilitator of discovery. We talked about so many wonderful things that let me know this was just the place I was supposed to be.
